Chestnut Biscotti

Enjoy our twist on a traditional biscotti treat! The best biscuits for your tea and coffee or even just an afternoon treat.


  • ½ cup finely chopped cooked shelled YV Fresh Chestnuts

  • ½ cup of sugar

  • 2 tablespoons stick margarine or butter-softened

  • 1 egg

  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

  • ¼ teaspoon cinnamon

  • ¼ teaspoon of salt


  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees celsius and line with parchment paper.

  2. Combine sugar and margarine in a large bowl (by hand or with a mixer) and combine well.

  3. Add egg and vanilla gradually; combining flour, baking powder, nutmeg, cinnamon, salt and lastly sugar; mix until sticky dough consistency has formed.

  4. Take off mixer and combine Y.V Fresh chestnuts.

  5. Lay down the flour and knead dough lightly. Shape the dough into a long roll or desired biscotti shape. Flatten down to approximately 2cm thickness.

  6. Bake at 180 degrees celsius for 30 minutes and allow to cool for 10 minutes.

  7. Cut the roll diagonally into slices

  8. Place the slices flat on a baking tray and bake for another 5 minutes at 180 degrees celsius.

  9. Allow to cool and enjoy!
