Spring Allergy Relief Smoothie

The weather seems right for a smoothie, but with pollen building up, some of us may be a little bit too busy sneezing and going through boxes of tissue to enjoy the weather - not to mention a smoothie.

Instead of waiting until next season, why not combine your favourite drink with some immune boosters to fight your allergy symptoms this spring? We’ve got a recipe for you.

Ginger, blackberry and oat smoothie

Blackberries are loaded with vitamin C which can ease allergy symptoms, while ginger contains anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce swelling and irritation of the nasal passages, eyes and throat.

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup of rolled oats

  • ½ cup of Y.V.Fresh blackberries

  • ½ cup of natural flavoured yoghurt

  • ½ tbsp of maple syrup

  • ½ tsp of ginger

  • ½ cup of water

  • ½ cup of ice

Method:

  1. Soak the oats in water for a few minutes until soft.

  2. Add all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

  3. To serve, pour mixture into glass and top with some Y.V.Fresh berries.

  4. Enjoy!
