Diets rich in fruits and vegetables are considered to be the healthiest. Most common fruits such as apples, bananas and berries are very available on the market, however there are a wide range of fruits that are yet to be discovered and investigated for their benefits, the kiwi berry being one of them.

 

The kiwi berry otherwise referred to as the cocktail kiwi, arctic kiwi, baby kiwi, dessert kiwi or the mini kiwi is a fairly new product on the market that is enjoying consumer acceptance around the world. The increasing interest and demand in the kiwi berry is due to the incredible nutritional health benefits this small berry contains.

 

The kiwiberry is considered an excellent source of vitamin C, vitamin B8, lutein, chlorophylls, enzyme actinidin and antioxidants. It is also a good source of vitamin E, vitamin A, potassium, calcium, magnesium, copper, iron, zinc and calcium. Early research has also pointed to the kiwi berry being a very promising treatment for some cancers and health issues involving hypercholesterolemia, gastrointestinal system also.

 

Kiwi berry falls in the category of the most alkaline, which has a few advantages for the body. A few advantages of a properly alkaline balanced body are youthful skin, deeper sleep, fewer colds, less arthritis and reduced osteoporosis. Kiwi Berries also protects from eye problems. The berries high levels of lutein zeaxanthin both of which are natural chemicals found in a human eye prevent eye problems. Who ever knew this tiny fruit had so many benefits!
